OUR HISTORY
Domus Laterizi, now Domus Linea, was founded in 1960 in Rubiera (RE) where it is still located, initially focusing its production on bricks.
In the early 1970s, Domus Linea embarked on a path of technological innovation that led to a qualitative improvement and from this process began the production of Emilian terracotta with the related special pieces.
The turning point came in the mid ‘90s with the introduction of Klinker which currently appears to be the flagship product of Domus Linea.
The latest development in the field of progress takes place in 2013, when the body of klinker is changed from red to white, being able to exploit digital technology and succeeding in satisfying the continuous market developments.
Today Domus Linea is the only Italian producer of klinker on an industrial level.

KLINKER: OUR BEST SELLER
Klinker, name derivated from dutch “klinkaerd” and “klinken” that means “ring out”, is born in Holland and later developed in Germany where it is initially used for pavements, building cladding, schools, bridges and more.
The klinker consists of a clay mixture containing high percentages of kaolinite and illite; subjected to a drying, mixing and grinding process, it is subsequently extruded and drawn (like pasta).
Cooking: the stay in the oven at very high temperatures (see table here below) determines its high resistance, placing it at the top among the specific products for outdoor use.
